Question SB to BB swap

If your not looking to have an original looking swap, is it nessasary to have all original brackets etc. for our trucks or could you use the brackets, pulleys, and acceseroies from a later model truck along with the engine, or for that matter a passenger car. I know that I will need the correct frame towers for the BB swap. I am not trying to build an original truck, just a damn nice one, and trying to get the most for my buck. Thanks for any help as I am in the learning process on these trucks.

Most people look for orginal parts because everything bolts up and there is very little modifications if at all. If you don't mind having to reroute hoses, tubing, and wiring and have to do some modification work you can do whatever you want as long as everything works properly when you're done. I'm in the process of swapping from SBC to BBC and there are a number of mods I'm doing so that everything works the way it should.
This is just my .02
