67-72 ss

If GM would have made a SS version of these trucks besides a big block what options do you think would have been on them.I know it would have been awesome!Kinda fun to imagine.

Re: 67-72 ss

Well an SS for 69 might have Chevelle scoops and side marker lights like mine:

Re: 67-72 ss

I think they did make one. It was called a CST and later a Cheyenne.

Re: 67-72 ss

the " Strip '' model would/should have had an aluminum front clip and M-22 4-speed as optional equipment....Tri-power too. ... maybe there is a Yenko or Copo white longbed fleetside hiding somewhere ...nice to think about once in awhile.... cool.

Nah,that would be the equivalent to an SS396 w/vinyl top . I kept it at Cheyenne because they are just CSTs renamed.

I have no idea what you're talking about . DELETED! I guess that showed the difference between during 1st cup and after 3rd . I dunno what happened. Usually it won't let you post twice.

But,you guys get my drift. A Super Sport truck is a Custom Sport Truck. Super Sport was just an appearance package. They just didn't badge the package up,but a CST big block is the equivalent to an SS396 car. It would have been cool if they did promote an SS package.

I envision this in '68:
*CST w/buckets
*396 hi-performance
*Posi/3.73
*Tach
*8" wheels w/hubcaps
*Black grille area and maybe inside the rear mouldings?
*Comfort grip steering wheel
*Some sort of hood hump(s),scoop(s) to give an aggressive attitude
*SS in grille and on fender
Options:
*Muncie M22 option
*4.10s
*Front disc brakes

Re: 67-72 ss

Sounds good Tim.
Could alwys make it a Yenko with the side stripes.
Use something like the Camaaro injector stacks on the SS.
Hurst shifted M22.
'67 plum special paint.
Aluminum slot wheels.
Corvettte 4 wheel disc brakes.

Re: 67-72 ss

Sure is fun to think about.
396 c.i. {over 400 hp}
4 speed manual
posi high 3's or low 4's
Black rally stripes
Rallys w/ss logo
SS badging
396 badging
Buckets w/console
Available in 2 tone red/white blue/white green/white black/white
tach

Wonder what the sticker would have been?
