New guy from north Idaho
I just picked up a 66 shortbed that I'm in love with. I have been looking for one for about 10 years and the timing was right so I got it. It has a warmed up 350 with a 350 trans. power steering and really comfy seats that I have no idea what they are out of. The rear end has the gears welded and have been switched to a horrible 4-73. Iplan on changing the rear end next week to a 73 five lug with stock gears I found at the local wrecking yard. I also found a guy here in town selling a rolling chassis 85 with a completely rebuild front end for $600. I'm hoping to talk him down to around $400 and make that swap this winter. I'm also going to put a 700r4 in it so I can drive around the state to some car shows next summer and be able to take the interstate without winding the motor out. I'm sure I will have a million questions once I get started tearing it down this winter.

Re: New guy from north Idaho
Thanx! I have a set of matching ralleys for the back but the tires are smoked on them. I'm hoping to have a new rear end in this week and a new carb on it so it will be streetable. Right now its a little crazy to drive since it's set up for drag racing.

Welcome to the forum! I missed your original post back in August. You have a nice clean straight looking truck.
