Power steering
I just bought a 1968 SWB stepside 307 3 speed on the column and need to put power steering on so the wife can drive it. Where do I start?

Re: Power steering
Pump, brackets, gear box, pitman arm, hp hose, return line? Sometime after 75' they went to metric fittings on the pump and gear box.

Re: Power steering
I'm also going thru this right now. Also have to see if you have long or short water pump.

Re: Power steering
And the gearbox doesn't bolt on to some frames. You need spacers or a bfh to massage the frame.

Re: Power steering
I think the 307 trucks are long.

Re: Power steering
I'd post some pics of what you have just to double check before you start buying stuff.

Re: Power steering
If it was me, I would buy a 71 - 87 parts truck and take the power steering, power brakes, and disc brakes and put them all on this truck. If the parts truck has HEI, a front sway bar and an internally regulated alternator I would swap those parts over too. Actually with the power steering, power disc brakes, sway bar, HEI and internally regulated alternator you will greatly increase the driveability of the truck.

Re: Power steering
This sounds like a great idea. Might be a lot cheaper too. What are these trucks going for
