Gmc super custom?

Did they make a Gmc Super Custom? I thought there was only Sierra Grandes.
This truck is for sale here in Phoenix. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/ctd/3280210563.html

Re: Gmc super custom?

GMC handled their trim levels differently than Chevy through 67-72. The Super Custom was top dog, same as CST through '70,BUT...in '70 the Sierra Grande started,BUT...it was an option to be added on the Super Custom in both '71 and '72. So through '71 Super Custom was the top trim level, but one with the Sierra or Sierra Grande "option" was fancier. Think '72 Chevy Highlander. That was a Custom Deluxe "and" more...only that was on mid-level,not top-of-the-line like Sierra/Sierra Grandes. Not until '72 did GMC and Chevy follow the same lines with Custom=Custom,Custom Deluxe=Super custom,Cheyenne=Sierra, and Cheyenne Super=Sierra Grande...as far as being it's own trim level goes. '72 is the first year the Sierras and Sierra Grandes were their own stand alone trim level.
