convert 2wd to 4wd

I have been looking for an older blazer/jimmy/carryall 4x4 for a project. I have found a 1959 carryall, but its 2wd. Is my research correct that this would/should have a solid front axle in 2wd?

If so, would converting it to 4x4 be as easy as finding a SFA, driveshaft, transfer/trans combo and make it work? I currently has no motor/trans.

Re: convert 2wd to 4wd

Look at my build to get an idea. Steering is the biggest issue. Axles bolt right up. If I was doing it over I'd go with a NP205 instead of the NP203 but they are close enough that principle is the same.

Re: convert 2wd to 4wd

That would be a Napco. Go to Napco.org for more information. There are a number of threads here on them. Someone here recently got one and was getting rid of the original parts to upgrade to a newer frame setup. Do a site search for Napco and the threads willl turn up.
