Clock Option
Hey guys,
Hoping someone can help me, I am looking for a clock for my truck. Do anyone know if there is a clock option dealer of factory for a 71 cheyenne with a full gauge cluster? |

Re: Clock Option
Some people swear they've seen one, but I have seen no documentation of one ever being stock, and while dealer add on book was thick and full of items to add on, I've neverr seen anything indicating a clock.

Re: Clock Option
I took this clock out of a 72 Cheyene Super that a friend of mine had. His Dad whom bought the truck new swears that the dealer installed this one.

Re: Clock Option
I've never seen one either but because dealers would add just about any feature you wanted, I'm wouldn't be surprised if someone out there has one or has seen one.
If you come across one that looks good post a pic of it on here. |

Re: Clock Option
This one came from a 1979 Monte Carlo i found in the local boneyard. It is the perfect size for the center hole and has the Chevrolet logo on it.

To make the hole in your plastic heat up a nail. Measure two or three times then poke a hole with a nail a little larger than the adjusting arm that comes out of the clock. Plastic polish removes the factory markings from the back of the plastic lens. If I remember correctly there are a few lines in that "hole" that need to be removed. Same for the center hole.

Re: Clock Option
Again i am NOT suggesting this was an option but maby a dealer accessory in Canada or just trying to get rid of overstock for some dealerships. This is what i may use in my 67 GMC. I am not sure if i like it yet. If i could find any fact or documentation that there was a clock available i would for sure install it. this clock looks like the one in the artist rendering in my 67 GMC sales brocheure. it is from the earlier 60's chevys.

Re: Clock Option
I though I saw before where GM offered them as an accessory, not an option.

Re: Clock Option
Very nicely done. Great work. I had the same idea for the clock.
In addition I am playing around with putting a square body large fuel gauge in the center blank pod and putting a third gen Camaro 7k tach & 115 mph speedo into mine. Still a lot to do to make it work.

Re: Clock Option
FWIW, the "quartz" clock I robbed out of a suburban (pictured above) is REALLY loud.
Just the other day a buddy was over at my shop. My truck was sitting there. He opened the driver's side door and poked his head in there then came out with a funny look on his face. "What's the matter?" I asked. "That clock is REALLY loud." was his reply. I can hear it ticking away the moment I open the service door on the shop. Posted via Mobile Device
