Wheels
I would like to find a set of aluminum wheels for my truck but I would like to find a nice used set. However I don't know what the pattern is on my truck it is a 1966 C10 6 lug. What other truck would have the same pattern as mine or cars if they even have 6 lug. I have looked at many aluminum wheels but don't know if they are the same as for my truck.
Thanks Rocky |

Re: Wheels
The stock bolt pattern is 6 lugs on a 5 1/2" bolt circle. The most common vintage aluminum wheel for this pattern is the slot mag. 15x8 was the most popular size. Ansen was the biggest producer, along with a variety of knock off brands. Here's a typical 5 lug version:

Re: Wheels
Here is a set that I recently acquired for my '66. They're 15x8.5, 6 lug. I'm picking them up from the machine shop today and will post some pictures when I get them mounted up next week.

Re: Wheels
Sweet, love that look! What tires are you going to run on them?

Re: Wheels
I'll stick with T/A's. For now, I'll use the 255/60-15's that are on my smoothies, because they're near new. I'm just finishing up a 2/4 lowering and I fear that's too low of a tire for my taste. I'll eventually go with a 255/70 or 275/60, depending on which one I think looks better.

Lots of newer wheels are 6x5.5 but won't fit your hub. THe hub or centre hole size is smaller and the wheel offset puts the tires too close to the body or suspension. They sit too far inward. Wheels up to 1987 should fit. |

Re: Wheels
Thanks geezer nothing newer then 87 but also 6x5.5 and then the width doesn't matter I suspect like if it is 8" 10" and also does it have to be from a chevy or can it be a rim from a jeep or dodge?

Re: Wheels
Chevy or GMC!
Jeep or Dodge might not fit. Hub hole and offset probs. Watch your width too. 8" max on the front. Depending on tire used maybe 10" rear. What's your budget? |

Re: Wheels
The Toyota 4x4's had the same 6 x 5.5 wheel bolt pattern.

Re: Wheels
Turdota did have 6x5.5 but they don't fit. Hub size is different IIRC.
