Oldchev4x4 at the Line Mountain 7-Miler '12. They call it the 7-Miler,but that's 7 x 4 laps and this year the course was more like 8 miles.
Here's a few pictures (dig those fresh fenders) in line for the start...5th to go:

Nothing like a leisurely & scenic ride through the woods to shake the hustle and bustle of the busy world from your bones.

Re: Who Wanted Fast Wheelin?

HEY RANDY! THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE HERE WHO ARE ASKING ME QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR BLAZER!!!!!! Heh heh...I'll tell you what I know,or think I know. He has tweaked this thing bit by bit from race to race. He's run it for a while now. JUST HOW LONG,RANDY? I believe it has 52" front springs with sliders, the rears are now 62s with reverse shackles,it has crossover steering,uhhhh...smzzllmich shocks (sorry, don't really know),some kinda whatchamacallit locker in the rear, and I know nutting about the motor or trans or anything else for that matter. He did weld rod stock along the inside of the wheel bead to prevent bending and a collar around the valve stem, like on a skid loader.
Just finishing this race is an accomplishment, believe me. This race these guys never had to get out. So,the rig is tweaked out pretty good. Good enough to get 2nd place in class. This is a timed race where you race against yourself. They signal to slower vehicles and they pull off as soon as they can to let you by. Sometimes one is broke on the coarse and you might push them off or make a new road. There are places where there's been three bypasses made around broken/stuck vehicles and they're all plugged up.

Re: Who Wanted Fast Wheelin?

Special K you are the king of videographers. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
The tires are old school P-78/15 Buckshot Mudders. They quit making them a couple years ago. And that sucks cause nobody makes that size in a bias ply thats as tough as these are.
The shocks are Bilstein 5150's and they quit making them too.
Front springs are 52" with slider box's.
Rear springs are 64" with a shackle flip.
Crossover steering.
Dana 44 front, open.
12 bolt rear, Eaton posi.
350 motor
350 trans
205 TC

Thanks. It's funny,I've been to this race to see Randy for,I think,5 years now. I took pictures (this same camera) the first year and was happy with that. I think it was the second or third year when I was on a curve taking pictures and said how I wished I had my video camera to catch some action. This guy standing there said my camera should be able to shoot videos,"See that movie camera icon there?" Well dayum! I reckon I done had me a video camera all along!!...DOH!!

Thanks Coop, There is some very tough competition, but if I cut some more weight, and add a couple leaf springs, and maybe some more shocks, and and.........It never ends.

Re: Who Wanted Fast Wheelin?

It's a fun time trudging around through the woods on a mountain side catching them run through different obstacles. But I must warn you if you go,there just may be some people drinking beer there.
