Conversion GMC Grill to Chevy Grill

Hi everyone!

I ask me which chevy grill fits at my 70th GMC truck???

I know that the hood or the fenders are not the same... but someone have told me that the c10 grill fom the 71 chevy model fits at my GMC.

The guy said that the fenders and hood are the same at the 71 model!

I this correct???

Re: Conversion GMC Grill to Chevy Grill

Hood is the same for 69-72's. Fender's are different. The only year GMC and Chevrolet shared the same fenders was in '67. The inner fenders is the same for both from 67-72. Not sure exactly what the difference is in the core supports other than the dual head lights for GMC and single headlight for Chevy.

I would say, just find a donor and take the complete front clip and swap it over if you want the Chevy grill. Me personally, I fancy my dual headlights and grill too much. But there might be a future Chevy SWB to match my GMC if I can ever talk the wife into it.

A 67-68 is the only chevy grille that will fit your 1970 fenders, then you will need a 67-68 rad support and hood to go with it. 68-72 gmc fenders are the same as 68 chevy with marker lights. The 69-72 grille will not fit your fenders.

Hey joe! then its better when i take my hood and buy fenders for the years 69-72! This would be cheaper. I think a hood is more expensive!?

Is anyone here, who have made a convasion like this???

If you want the 69-70/71-72 grille you will just need 69-72 fenders and core support. Some people have converted their core support from four to two headlights. You would need the headlight extensions and buckets to do that.
