Rear leaf springs on 52 3600

I had originally asked this in the OK area but I'm getting antsy and want to get this thing on the road as soon (and as cheaply) as possible.

So here's my set up:

I have a 1952 Chevy 3600. The previous owner decided to lower it, which I agree with. However, he flipped the axle, then removed leaves out of the original rear leaf setup. This would be all well and good, but the springs look to be the originals. Which means now, the truck sits with the bump stops from the frame right down on top of the axle. Ouch.

I've tried using some 3/4 ton springs from a 50's-ish GMC from a junk yard that had all of the springs in the stack with no luck. I also tried adding some air shocks in the mix, but they won't budge the old girl's rear end at all. I can only use the regular stack from the GMC and not the reinforcement stack because of how the spring perches are now on the bottom of the axle.

So with that in mind, I'm looking for some replacement springs. They don't have to be new, or original because I'm trying to save up for a 4 link kit. Does anyone know where I could find some not so worn springs that will keep the rear end off of the axle? From what I've read, the springs are supposed to be 2" wide and 46(?)" long.

Crazy idea (unless it works or someone here has done it already!):

Do you think it would be possible to combine some of the original stack with the GMC springs to see if I could stiffen the springs up enough to use? If so, which would I use? The shorter or longer ones?
