Anyone running a one pice drive shaft?
I know there is a limit on length so I am not sure it will work. I have changed all my 67-72 trucks to a one piece with no probs.

Re: Anyone running a one pice drive shaft?
I'm using a one piece driveshaft with a spline slider that was originally used with a t-400 that had a bolted on yoke-plate.
I'm using it with a 700r4 that has a sliding (into the trans) yoke. To keep the driveshaft's slider from retracting too far, I put a valve spring in the slider. The driveshaft works good and without vibration.... It should be basically the same length as a longbed pickup....If you are concerned about the unsupported weight, have it made from aluminum! |

Re: Anyone running a one pice drive shaft?
If it is the same length as a LWB I am ok with changing it to a one piece. I ran a one piece in my LWB 69 with no issues. I just thought the burb driveshaft may be longer. I think the max lenth they would make is 72".

Same length, but if you are going to bag it, I wouldn't go with a 1 piece.

Re: Anyone running a one pice drive shaft?
Hmmm... Ida thought that a one piece shaft, being longer, would present less u-joint angle variance over a given vertical travel distance..... I'm interested to know why the two piece is better for a bagged application....( I'm always lookin to learn!)

Re: Anyone running a one pice drive shaft?
i put back the two piece drive shaft and it was cut to fit a slip yoke neaar the rearend. it works great for me just make sure you cut it to the right length because it will blow out your pinion bearing.
