Thats a sweet lookin truck. Although having the nose higher than the end doesnt do anything for me. Was that how it came originally?

Re: short bed Beau James?

I found one for sale in Portland, Oregon a couple months ago. I looked at the sticker in the glove box and believe it was authentic. They did build short beds for the Beau James.

This truck also decodes as a 454... That would make it the ultimate Beau James...

Re: short bed Beau James?

Pretty sure they came short or long, 350s or 454s, very limited production. Checkout http://home.netcom.com/~rvtucker/beaujame.html

Re: short bed Beau James?

I have that site linked from my page too. The only thing I don't like is how he says the Beau James has a "3/4 ton frame" The 3/4 and 1/2 ton frames have the exact same part number in the parts catalog. I think he is confused about GMCs being 15s and Chevys being 10s for their 1/2 tons.

Re: short bed Beau James?

It probably has the heavy duty chassis equipment option which is more commonly called the Big 10 and Heavy Half. That means 3/4 ton springs, larger rear brakes, double hump cross memeber, and very mininal emissions equipment. I think this is the ultimate package for these trucks.

Exclamation Re: short bed Beau James?

yep. She's real boys. I currently own this truck. I have since replaced the American racing wheels with some deep dish wire lace rims to kinda match the factory wire hub caps and tuned the motor a tad. Placed 1st & second in a show today! Truck has original carpet. Door panels. Dash pad. Steering wheel. Floor mats and is numbers matching. Bought it for a song. Had to do a little research myself on the swb versions of beau James. GM production percentages estimate that less than 72 swb big blocks were produced. Go to GT-AG.com to see a few photos.
