Re: I haven't got a crew......
Thankyou shadow1967. I'm looking forward to the day she gets fired up.
Sad news though, the project is officially on hold until my house gets bricked up. Only three and a half thousand to go Shouldn't take too long… I hope. Stay tuned. Trently. Posted via Mobile Device |

House projects keep showing up here too. I thought I finished the remodel last year, but it like a revolution. Keep returning! Keep us informed.

Re: I haven't got a crew......
G'day All,
Thankyou for the positive comments. I have had a few of life's quirky little twists fall upon me over the last couple of months and unfortunately I haven't made any further progress on my crew to date since the last post. There is also still a good number of bricks left to lay on my home which will still be the priority for when I extract a digit and get back on top of things. Having said that though I did need to dust off my other old project, 'Matilda', and arranged a meet and greet for the pair of them. I'm sure they'll become the best of buddies with one following the other around for some time to come. Here's how it went down: Crew, this Matilda. Matilda, I'd like to introduce you to Crew. I'm sure they'll get hitched some day. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I haven't got a crew......
Trently,
Good one, but i am going to go through withdraw. I will have to get a plane ticket, so get everyone together for the friday night work detail. I wonder if fenders count as a carry on. Shannon Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I haven't got a crew......
Maaaaate, yes yes yes, rear fenders do in particular make for a great carry on bag when tacked together. Heaps of stowage room for a box of Duff! I'll free up some spare bunks for anyone who wants to join you on the voyage. Thanks man!

Re: I haven't got a crew......
G'day all,
Not too much to report on as yet for the crew. With summer heading towards us here in a few months, I have been putting some enthusiastic emphasis into getting Matilda river and road worthy. Troy and I shot a good few hours onto the trailer last Saturday night and it's amazing how quickly 5:00am comes around!! I did manage to 'skin' four doors in readiness for some sweet surgery when the right moment arrives. The original two doors taken from my first 54 were in excellent condition and the other two which were taken from the third cab we picked up were not in as good nick but the portions needed from them, being the upper frames will suffice just nicely. The edges all unfolded easily with the aid of a little home made tool and then the only needed a handful of spot welds drilled out, the lead wiped from off where the pillars are attached to the outer skin, cut the factory welds and a little poke, prod and push and off they came quicker than jack could jump over the candlestick. Sorry for the crappy pics. Hart_Rod, c10seth and El Campo - Thankyou guys for your comments. Russell Ashley, sorry it's not much of an update, but hang in there. As they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was Trently's Crewcab!" hmmm, or his house or his boat… Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I haven't got a crew......
AUSSIE54, boy it is about time. I was going through withdraw because of no pictures for a while. Now I want to see them finished and in the door openings for the next time. After this weekend will be fine! HAHA. Remember it took 14 years to get mine driveable! Now, great job and glad you are getting some time on it again. Yes, Rome wasn't in a day. They all take time, and lots of it.
Shannon

Re: I haven't got a crew......
G'day Da88burban, no, sorry man. My house and my boat are still taking precedence over the crew at this stage. It's bloody tough though, sort of like a self imposed torture, cause the truck sits only 10 feet away from where I'm working on the boat and I get to stare at it all day long everyday as they are tucked away together down in the corner of the workshop that I work in. I've got some sweet old rear fenders heading this way soon that an awesome buddy of mine has slipped me, so you never know, I might get back onto sooner than what I think.
JRANGER: thank you for your appreciation. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I haven't got a crew......
Hi Trently,
Long time, no talk. HAHA. Boy you need to get your priorities straight! Truck then house and boat. I hope once you get those fenders you get back to working on it. We are going through withdrawal. Shannon
