Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
The back is on the frame, with springs removed. Any way to use a spring and keep the rear this low.

Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
Welcome!!! Looks like a great start to a project. You can go pretty low with a C-notch and lowering springs. You'll need an adjustable panhard at over 4 in.Opinions on that may vary.

Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
Welcome to the forum!
bolt some D-2600 air bags (with shrader valves like air shocks) in where the springs should be and c-notch the frame. Then you can adjust the height and also throw 1000lbs in the bed if you need to and not worry about it dragging on the ground. Cheap and easy! Dont change that beautiful front end to a Chevy! Too many Chevys out there and not enough nice GMC's.

Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
I always thought '67 - '72 Chevy's were ugly. Then I saw a '72 GMC.

Didnt mean to change your mind. I have both, at first I didnt like the GMC front end either but it grows on you.
Either way would be cool. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
Do you know what year your Chevy stuff is?
Your front fenders will only work with 67-68 Chevy stuff. Your hood, hoodlatch, front splash pan and core support will need to change if you go with the conversion. 69-72 Chevy, youll need core support and both front fenders. Also, your front bumper being GMC is different than either year Chevy. Id just leave it. I think it looks awesome. I wouldnt even wash it. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My new truck -just scored it yesterday
Sounds like you're good to do Chevy stuff if you go that route. You could always sell the GMC stuff too (?)
Your call man .. But give it time before you change it over. The GMC front end will grow on you.
