WTB swb driveshaft 54" long

I am looking for a one piece driveshaft for my 70 swb truck that I swapped a 700r4 into. In the past, I have found that the later model one piece drivshafts will fit. I am not sure if it has to be out of a truck originally equipped with a 700r4 or not, but it does need to be 54" long.

Re: WTB swb driveshaft 54" long

Several years ago when I did mine, I used one out of 1982-89 chevy caprice.
I just just changed the rear universal. Hope this helps.

Re: WTB swb driveshaft 54" long

I did the same thing you are doing now with the 700r4 and the funny thing is I am going to have to go to a two piece since I ordered a porterbuilt dropmember kit but I guess that is a good problem to have. As a side note no regrets at all installing the 700r4 except the shop that did the swap backed my truck into a tool box.

Driveshaft from my 69 C10 short wheelbase with a TH350 and 12 bolt rear. Driveshaft is 55" long u joint to u joint. Its a 3" steel driveshaft, 1310 style u joints and a 27 spline yoke. In average condition, was too short for my engine/trans swap. $40 obo

Re: WTB swb driveshaft 54" long

I am swapping out my 700r4 out for TH400 and have the driveshaft on the truck that I planned on taking off this weekend. I will measure and post a pic, this afternoon.

asolde, sounds ok, but I already made palns w/ pmarti to buy the radiator from him, so I am going to see if I can work something out with him on the ds as well. If that doesnt work out, I willl let you know ASAP. Your price is definitely fair!

I'm fairly certain that 88-98 swb 2wd shafts are very close to this...

It may be a while before I get this one in, but it came out of Pmarti's truck, swb 71/72 GMC with a 700r4. I already have one in my dad's 72 Chevy swb step w/ 700r4 that came out of an 85 swb step... "Like a glove"...

This is usually how I work on 67-72's
So the ease of the DS install was a shock!

Nothing wrong with the price, but I would like to give it a little time to see if I can find something local to save on shipping.
