I get a bunch of empty oil filter and brake shoe boxs from my fathers garage and use coffee cans, mark them with a good marker and write big ( grease covered fingers covers small writting ) and then I put all the smaller boxs in a bigger box and seperate from interior an exterior and motor.

Zip Loc bags and a good sharpie, shelves work super good and keeping stuff by area.If its going to take long I put the screws/nuts/bolts back were they came from until we work on it.
Plastic bins so you dont loose stuff..
