Best place for steering joints - Price vs. Quality
Hey guys, getting ready to start on the steering. Not going to go the route of Chrome/polished joints, but I will if they are the same price. I am trying to figure out the best place to purchase my steering joints and the Double D shaft. I know there are tons of places out there, ranging from Scotts to LMC truck parts. I am most concerned with price, but I am also equally concerned with quality joints. I don't want a made in China part that is going to wear out in 1500 miles. Where are you guys getting your stuff from? Anybody wanna sell any leftover joints you didn't use in your build?

I've bought 5 of these from this Ebay seller. Great quality and price, $42.95.

Also used the same guy as sgtusmc. He also trades/traded under the username fatrodder. Never had any issues with his steering joints and they're a fraction of the price compared to borgeson/flaming river/summit etal.
FWIW ignore some of the old negative remarks from last year. From what I was told he operates out of an area of Iowa that flooded and pretty much lost everything. People jumped the gun without bothering to find out why their items weren't shipping or he wasn't responding. |

Re: Best place for steering joints - Price vs. Quality
I have used Borgeson U-joints on late model racing stock cars and they are made in CT. Never had any problems. They have purchased the tooling etc to make Saginaw steering boxes. They are a top notch company in the US.
