Rear brake lines, WTF?

I bought a set of steel lines for the rear-end from brothers, and when I got 'em home, they looked to be too long.

My rubber line used to come down and mount on the passenger side axle tube near the center.

I got another set from Finelines, and they were exactly the same as the first. They came together at the center of the pumpkin, about 6" to the left of the origional mounting point.

Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Piper!

It sounds like it is an early style rear, say- 68 that mounts on the axle tube and 72 mounts to the diff cover bolt via a bracket. Im not sure what the split is on when they changed them though.

Poo. I already moved the mounting tab, but why would all the vendors list only one set of lines for '67 - '72 if there are two different types? Stuff like that makes me mad.
