Carb Question

I have a leaking carb - Rochester 2GV that needs replacing. Truck is a 65 C20 with a 283 (four on the floor). My question is, do I replace the carb with a 2G (I have the choke cable still in the truck) which would have been there originally or do I go with another 2GV.

Any benefit to the vacuum choke vs the manual (aside from not having to deal with the choke cable)? Doesn't seem like a huge difference either way, but figured I'd check to get some opinions. Probably a silly question, but figured I'd throw it out there to make sure there wasn't a reason to go with one over the other.
