1971 Horn
So I just purchased my first 67-72 style a couple weeks ago, and am still learning a lot about it.
The horn button on the steering wheel does not work, however, pulling the turn signal switch forward honks the horn.. so is there an explanation for this other than someone screwed with the wiring? |

If it's an aftermarket steering wheel, they may have done it on purpose instead of just wire it up to the horn cap. If you have the original wheel, you can yank it off and see how crazy the wiring is under it - something metallic may have busted off, is rubbing etc. and it just happens to do that.
My advice - don't mess with it and be glad you still have a horn!

Haha good advice, I was thinking the same thing! I HAVE A HORN!
So what's the original function to pulling the turn signal switch inward if not to honk the horn? |

there is no function for turn signal switch either in or out// it only works up for rt hand turn down fow left
if it moves any other way you have a mounting problem// and if you move it in and horn honks i suspect that it is contacting the horn wire and causing it to ground out as that is what makes the horn work

Could be that the turn signal switch inside the column under the wheel is broken and like Cliff said, it is grounding. Does the turn signal switch seem to function properly when you move it up or down?
