sway bar question
i just ordered a sway bar from brothers, from what i can tell my c 10 has never had one on it and i wonder is there anything i need for this installation, other then the bar kit that i ordered?

i think you might need the factory mounts that are rivited to the frame

You may have to drill some holes but basic tools is all you need. You will be surprised at how much better it drives.

It should be pretty simple. I installed mine that I got from ECE. I think I had to drill 2 holes the rest were there. It may not though been a long time since I did it.
Did you get one for a lowered truck? There was a thread a while back that if the truck is lowered it needs a differant mount.

I'll add that have to remove two rivets, which is easier said than done. These will be your two "holes" mentioned before. They will be for the brackets, which I also found needed some massaging to line up correctly. Holes for the ends are alreday there.

You will need to get rid of two rivets. That is easier said than done. I did mine on a frame with no front end/core support and it was a bear. Of course, these suckers have been there 40 years. Other than that, it is easy. Your kit should have everything you need. If your truck is lowered, they have shorter frame brackets, which I purchased, but on installing, I found I had to use the regular brackets to make the bar sit "level". I cut the spacers to about 1/2" in between the rubber bushings on the a-arms to get the right height for my app. The instructions should tell you to modify if needed. As far as the rivets, I used a 4-1/2 grinder to grind off the heads on the bottom side, then an air chissel with a round bit to punch the rivets out the top of frame, from the bottom. I would reccomend doing one side at a time with the rivets,mounting the bracket before moving to the next side. The rivets hold a cross-piece between the frame rails, and it can move a little if you take out both rivets at the same time. Ask me how I know. Good luck with the project!
