Exclamation Rendering Software?

Any good cheap/free rendering software I could download? What are some of you dudes using? Pros, cons? Tips, tricks? I figured until dad drops the 350 into the 98 I wont be able to start work on mine anytime soon . I might as well be productive and do something! Can anybody a guy out?!
