convert inline 250 to auto trans

Trying to do some thread research for 67-72, and I see it pretty common on the older trucks, but since this truck is for the Mrs., it needs to be auto.
Right now 3 on the tree. Anyone know of a thread for the conversion or done one before? Was it an option that I might find a parts truck? Just looking for ease of driveability for her.

Any help would be appreciated as a search!

Re: convert inline 250 to auto trans

got a 69 shortbed from factory with the 6cyl and an automatic, need to cut the rivets for the stick tranny mount and remove it, then get an automatic mount to use instead, not sure if the driveshaft will be the correct length, believe it will be close with a turbo 350, and put in a floor shifter, or find a factory automatic column with all the linkage and hard ware
