big blocks and sticks

does anyone know if these trucks ever came out with stick shifts behind big blocks from the factory?

Yes, In '72 for instance the following were available. However C10s, I'm guessing your interested in, were all column shift as were the C20 three speeds.

C10 BB 3 speed manual
C20 BB 3 speed and 4 speed manual
C30 BB 4 speed manual

They never came with any manual transmissions that were worthy of "hot rodding". But if you're lookin' at pullin' power, they were available.

didnt know for sure, havent heard of any around, must be rare, factory big block trucks are rare around here

If you are talking about using that 4 speed that was behind your I6 and you haven't changed rear gears pretty much 3rd and 4th are all you will need for a 454 in an empty truck. The stock 4 speed is a notchy granny low trans. Factory Big blocks with 3OTT are fairly rare in C10s or C20s.
