Decode My Frame Vin Numbers

Can anybody decode the numbers off of my frame. I have two frames and was wondering what exactly they are. The first one is 7J10064 and the second one is 9S857240.

Re: Decode My Frame Vin Numbers

Frame vins are partial vins. The last 6 are the truck number for that year/factory.

You may be missing a number in the first one. If the first one is off a Chevy I believe it's a 1967 (7) built in Janesville (J). Then there should be 6 numbers. Maybe the factory forgot the last one?

The other one would be a 1969 (9) built in St Louis (S).

I am no expert at this, but that is all the info I think you get. Basically you get the last 8 characters of the VIN. The first four aren't applied to the frame so the frame VIN won't tell if it's a 4wd or 2wd, 6 cyl or 8cyl, 1/2 ton etc, or ht ebody style. Of course you can tell almost all of that by looking at the frame.
