speedometer adapter

Anyone else have a little box on the transmission used to calibrate the speedometer? I have one made by Stewart Warner and it shot craps last night on the way home. the little gears inside, well, one of them is round and smooth. I'm not going to fix this one yet cause the speedo is not correct anyway and I am thinking about changing gears and possibly tires soon. just wondered if anyone knew where to get these or have them fixed. I thought I saw a place on the web that serviced and made them but I can't remember if it was S-W or not. any help would be great.

Nathan

I find them mostly on 4 spd trucks. But you pretty much have to know what ratio rear end your taking it off of and the original tires size to make it match what you need. There is a chart in a book I have on some of them and there part number.

How about you send me a pic of that 292 for my picture collection... PS? Rocker cover pic? Rod

I was thinking that I saw a place online that was able to recondition them and I thought it was by stewart warner. Can't remember though. Sure I can send you a pic. I've changed the rocker cover on this one. the original was just plain but I found one from a 250 that had the chevrolet script so I changed it. Still looks the same but says chevrolet. would be happy to though. you might send me a PM so that I remember cause I'll forget.

thanks for the info though.
