I found the almost new toolbox on CL for $150. The fuel cell was $200. The tank extension was another $150. Another $170 for the four mounting straps, steel plumbing, and shock mounts, hardware, etc. . So I guess the whole deal was about $520 plus the toolbox. I had designed several versions of the tank itself and had quotes from $500 - $700, so by using the RCI Cell, I got all the fitting, filler and 90 ohm sending unit. Saved a few bucks that way. . I'm going to finish hooking up the plumbing and pull the old tank A.S.A.P. . Here is a .pdf file rendering from SolidWorks Last edited by TobyArnot; 10-17-2012 at 07:38 AM. |

Re: New Relocated Tank -
Thanks for all to good comments gang. I wanted to get the Fuel Cell out of the weather. I'm even thinking about adding a second toolbox to use as a "trunk" for hauling travel bags and folding chairs..
. On a side note, once I pull the stock tank, should more cab noise be a problem I should address? I have some nice 6 x 9's under the seat and I will move them back. The PO installed a carpeted tank cover, which I could reuse. . Again thanks and looking forward to JRMotorsports this Sat. in Mooresville, N.C. Last edited by TobyArnot; 10-17-2012 at 07:36 AM. |

When u take the tank out of the cab you will have plenty of room for more speakers. Remind me I'll show u mine. Another thing u will have the gas opening to plug. I used a old plastic cap for years until I had it welded up this last repaint. Worked great. ![]() ![]() http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t=gas+cap+plug

Sounds great Andy,
. Yes, My stepper is my only ride. D/D and cruiser. I'll be driving it for sure. Ask me about some of my "road trips". I use it a lot. (Daytona Turkey Run for Thanksgiving) That's one reason I'm confident enough to plan a Cali. trip with a single axle camper. Call me foolish, but I'm mostly just old and dumb!!! . JointTech, I'm headed your way_ _ _ _

Solidworks 2012. I've been doing mechanical design for over 30 years. Used 2D AutoCad for almost 20 years. Wouldn't want to go back to 2D ever again.
