floor replacement questions

So I am cutting out the old floor in my 71 k5, I bought the whole replacement truck floor. I noticed where the console goes the factory floor is flat, and the truck replacement has 2 beads in it, I dont have a console yet so I cant check but do I need to cutout the beads for the console to sit flat?
Also there are 2 holes under the gas pedal, I imagine these are for the organ type pedal?

Re: floor replacement questions

Those reinforcement ribs shouldnt be in your way, since the console sits on top of the 2" raised area right behind the trans cover. Console has 4 raised feet, about 1/2" tall

Never did figure out why they put those ribs there, i guess, just reinforcement

Post up pics of your progress....

Re: floor replacement questions

They are only 3/8" raised, arent they? Just so im thinking of the same part as you. Try to include some demensions in your pic and i will make sure they dont hit the console

Re: floor replacement questions

The ribs won't hit the center console. I put a new truck floor in my 72.

Re: floor replacement questions

Thanks for the link, did you weld up all the extra truck holes in the floor? I am thinking about leaving the the truck seat mounting bolts in, just in case I ever want to throw a bench in it.

Re: floor replacement questions

I left mine in as well. I figured it'd be good to keep em cause you never know when you might want to change things!

I am getting ready to order a bunch of parts for the "tub" how difficult is it to replace and is there any modifications to the replacement floor?

Re: floor replacement questions

i am not done yet, I will post some more pics in my build thread tonight. There are mods to the truck pan that need to be done. Big ones I can see right now are cutting off the rear off the rear support, adding all the blazer seat supports, plugging up all the truck holes(fuel line, seatbelt holes, acc pedal holes, fuel tank, etc).
