Anyone Have Experience w/Hooker Super Comp 16922HKR Exhaust System?
I'm able and prepared to build my own dual 2.5" exhaust system for the crew cab with either my Dad's bender or TIG together a bunch of mandrel bends and straight pipe, but I figured it would see if this could save me any time or effort!
Has anyone used this system? Does it fit Properly and clear everything? I'll be connecting this system to my Doug's Tri-Y's... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-16922HKR/ BTW, I'm only going to use the head pipes, intermediate pipes and over the axle...the tail pipes will all be custom with stainless tips... If you got a bender and a lift to raise the truck up, I'd start with some sections of raw pipe and go from there.
Seeing as you are using a different brand of header and you don't need the tail pipes, that kit is going to need a lot of work to make it what you need. $300 is a lot for pipes that aren't going to fit your needs that well to begin with.

The height and location of the header connection was definitely my biggest concern with the Doug's when the kit was made to work with the Super Comp headers...

Why not get a x pipe kit from pypes? It's about $140 and has no tailpipes

For torque we want an H-Pipe...but I see your point...

Quote:
I had their 2.25 kit on my Suburban for 6 or 7 years before it started to rust apart, it wasn't hard to make fit with the Hedman headers. Anyway, if the 2.5 kit follows the same path as the smaller kit (I don't see why they would re-engineer everything), it should work fine for you.
