Re: little infor
A 350 behind a 454 sounds unlikely Unless it came stock with a 350 engine and they later swapped a 454 in.
I'm willing to bet it is a th400 just based on the fact it is a 3/4 ton.

I like it my only objection is that it should be a 4wd.

Re: little infor
For 1500 out here you can get a running rusted out truck, I think your doing good.

Re: little infor
This is one of those "interesting" things GM did. MX1 is not a RPO code per se' but rather a build/service code (BS code, no pun intended) that would still make it's way to the SPID. MX1 simply means 3 speed automatic transmission and does not actually denote the model. The actual description of MX1 is "MERCHANDISING OPTION ONLY-DO NOT CATALOG".
I'm with the others, willing to bet it is a THM400 Like the truck! Last edited by beamn7; 08-04-2012 at 07:20 PM. |

Re: little infor
My 1986 C20 crew cab came with a 350 cubic inch engine and a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission, so as others have stated, all bets are on it being a TH400 unless a previous owner has swapped it out for something else.
