Another 5.3 Swap
Yep, a newbie to the group, though I have been reading and following for a while. Crash has one heck of a project going – can’t wait for the finished product.
My project is not as intense as his but I may have some of the same issues. I acquired what started out as a ’71 C10 LWB (350 Auto) and later morphed into a K20 with a 454 (same 350 tranny). The frame looks to be from a ’70 ¾ ton - based on configuration and S/N stamped on front left rail. I’m looking at swapping out the engine, transmission and the 205 transfer case for a 2008 5.3 ( 20K Miles) and a 2010 4L60E and T-case (5K Miles). I have not found any builds where the T-case was swapped out with the engine and transmission. Does anyone know if this will be a straight bolt in, or will I require some fabrication? (Yes, they painted the bow tie) Thanks |
