Re: 1965 C10 4X4 military truck info?
I was unaware the K series was prior to the 70's. Is it because it is a 4x4 is why it is a K rather than a C?

Yep - jkirn's right. Many aren't aware of this - K will appear in the VIN if it's an original 4x4. In the 70's, the "K5" Blazer actually got a K badge also so that's why many folks assume K didn't exist til the 70's. But the K has always been part of the VIN post-NAPCO days.

Re: 1965 C10 4X4 military truck info?
I'm not familiar with Navy trucks, but I'm guessing there's nothing different than the civilian model since it has civilian (bowtie) badges on it.
This is my 65 K-10 that was a former Forestry Service truck. It used to have a US plate on it also, but it's civilian specs in every way. ![]() When I was in the Army even civilian type vehicles got what the Army called nomenclature plates, and I suspect that's what you're seeing there. Either way, good looking truck you've got there to start with. Good luck and be sure to start a build thread on it.
