Lowering Original Seat

Has anyone cut down the track/frame of an original seat for a 57 P/U. I feel like I'm sitting too high in the cab and I was wondering if anyone else has pulled this off. I still want the original look and feel with sitting a little lower. Any pictures would be great also.

I'm with ya. Being 6'4" is my problem. I'm sure someone on here has done it.

Not a stock seat , but this is supposed to allow for some additional leg room and its still Chevy

Re: Lowering Original Seat

I'm short legged but I'd think that if you lower the seat you will end up in an uncomfortable position for your legs to be in.

Is the padding in the seat built up higher than stock? the seat cushion may be built up so that it raises you up more than you want.

If I were to lower the seat though I'd look at the stands the seat sits on and see if I could take a section out of them to lower the seat some. I've thought about doing that on the 90 something seat in my 71 as it raises me up so I look through the tinted stripe at the top. I look about six five in the truck rather than my shrinking five ten though. That is due to having a long body and short legs.
