Blowing ECM fuse

Driving me crazy!!! I was driving my Burb when it just died... Looked around and found the ECM fuse was blown, put in another and it pops as soon as I turn the key on... Looked on here and someone said that the fuel pump was prob bad... Replaced it today and still the same thing.... I also had a 4x4 burb that popped them and it was the wires going to the TBI injectors... So that was the first thing I checked... Was them..... Any suggestions would be helpful... I'm pulling my hair out.... Arrrgggg.

Well if you never can find it, you could always just bridge the fuse gap with a solid piece of metal or get waaay to high of a rated fuse in there. Then whatever is causing the problem will eventually burn up and you'll be able to locate it much easier. Couldn't find a short one time on my old 82 silverado and I got fed up and just did that lol. Probly not very helpful but you said you were pulling your hair out and it worked for me...

Yea I thought of that and jumped it... When I did I got no power to anything... Like my battery was disconnected... Weird I know but that's what it did...

There are two ECM related fuses with one of the two providing power to injectors. The common cause for this fuse blowing are pinched wires between air cleaner assembly and TB. Remove air-cleaner assembly and inspect gromet (positioned in a slot on the front of TB) where four wires that provide +12 and control pass through. Pull out gromet away from TB and replace ECM fuse. If it runs ok you found your short. Any signs of insulation rubbing in this area may eventually result in as short.

Fuel pump power (+12) is provided via fuse link directly from battery and controlled with Fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch. There is no fuse for Fuel Pump.

Depending on the year, it is mounted on the passenger side firewall. The FP relay socket will have a 4" red wire pigtail with a spade lug. With ignition off, you can apply +12votls from a fused source to the pigtail to power up FP - this can be used for priming or pressure testing fuel system.
