Big tires...can't help you there.
But drive shaft ballancing...probably about 50 bucks, but since you have a 2 piece shaft, you may get hit twice on that bill though. Look in your yellow pages, and if you have (or plan) overdrive, make sure you tell them since it is more important to be dead on with OD.

I put a set of used 33's on my 1/2 ton but it was tight. Right now I have 31's and they fit pretty good.

I have 275/60 R 15s on my rig, (in the back) and have no problems even when loaded down with more than it should be.

I have a book that lists stock, body lift, susp lift, and the largest tire you can use with each of those and 31x10.5 is the biggest stock tire you can use. I have 265/75/15's all around and the fronts are kinda tight and could go a little bigger but I wouldn't.

With a vehicle this old, there are quite a few variables. I know there is no way you could put a 275/60 under the front of min...not if you wanted to turn anyways.
Best bet is to get in there and measure, and try to borrow rim/tire set up...when you go to the extreem, sometimes you need to work extra hard for it.

If you haven't done any work to the suspension, there is a good chance that the springs are sagging on all 4 corners. I have a pair of 275/60/15's rear and a pair of 255/60/15's front with a 4/4 drop. I don't have any clearance issues because I have an adjustable tracking/panhard bar.
Now my buddy has a 72 with the same tire sizes as me and stock suspension but his rubs on the inside of the drivers side rear wheel tub. He's got a nice black mark on it from the tire smacking against it every time he hits a nice sized bump or puts a load in the bed.

I have 275/60's on mine now....it's not dropped but sagging a bit. I put 345/55's on the back with 10" wide rims. they did fit but just barely. Depending on what you will do with the truck may govern what you do with tires...the 345's would have problems if I dropped it...however 325's might be okay...

295/50's shouldn't give you much grief....I had them on my lowered 67 SWB....

There are pics on my site...

I forgot to add in my post above that I am running 8" wide wheels. My buddy is runny the 275/60/15's on a 7" wheel.
