Re: 72 Family Truckster
Well after getting rid of some stuff around the house it was time to drag the donor burb back home. After replacing a couple blown fuses from the accident and punctured oil filter, the burb fired right up and runs great. Took it for a test drive around the block and it seems to drive great minus the broken upper ball-joints from the rollover. Was able to get some of the body cut off with more continuing this week. Tearing it down is a little time consuming since I plan on using the new electrical harness in the 72', so I'm labeling every connector on what it's location was. Here's some pics for your enjoyment

Re: 72 Family Truckster
Well progress has been a little slow since I seem to keep adding to the collection
![]() Picked up this 72' local here that supposedly is a Texas body. So with the addition of this one I'll retain the 72' frame making the body swap easier. The main reason is that I can't take the green burb down to long because it's my only truck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: 72 Family Truckster
Well got a little done on the burbs this weekend. The 2000 is pretty much stripped down to the point where I can still drive it around. The plan now is to pull the 2000 out of the garage and pull the yellow one in. I'll pull the body off yellow one strip down the frame. Then I'll pull the drivetrain out of the 2000 and make it fit in the 72'. After crawling around underneath both burbs I'm leaning toward fixing up the yellow one since the body underneath is actually more solid then the green one. Then once the project is complete I'll sell the green off.
It is definitely time consuming pulling all the wiring out of the 2000 and marking where it all goes since I'll be using it all in the 72'. Here are some pics of the madness. Oh and my supervisor for the weekend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 72 Family Truckster
That is quite the ambitious project. Are you going to use the newer firewall?
