Rear drop

Ok guys ive seen most of the drop threds on here but i still have a question i dont know if there are any pros or cons on it but i was thinking about doing a 2" rear drop with blocks and 4" drop spring would this be recommended or should i just go with the 6" drop spring

i will be towing every now and then so i figured this way i can just remove the block or go with an inch block and be ready what you guys think?

if it matters in the front im doing 2.5 drop spindle and cut coil to make it 4"

Re: Rear drop

Go with the spring only.
I wouldn't use a 2" block unless you are using largse diameter wheels to avoid scrubline issues.

If you want to tow,... I would use an air bag in place of the spring.
Changing blocks every time you want to tow something, would be crazy.

Re: Rear drop

I will be running the stock wheels for about a month until i get 22" a friend is giving me i might go with 20s down the road when i can afford them... would i have to worry bout scrubline with those sizes?

also i have seen some that have a bag inside the spring is that a possibility or are you just saying running bags instead of spring or a helper bag style along with the spring?

srry bout all the questions

and thanks

Re: Rear drop

I would just run a 2500 or 2600 air bag in place of the rear spring.
Run an individual air line to each bag (not "T'd" together) and air them up with 2 schrader valves.
Kinda like air shocks,... only better.

Sure,... for easy adjustability.
But if you have no leaks it should be fine.
Make sure you use DOT approved fittings and air line.

Re: Rear drop

I would run drop shocks an adjustable track bar, and shock relocators with the bags.
With them air's out the rear axle will travel all the way to the frame.

Look at the Suspension Marketplace here,... for your bag set up.

These guys support this board,... lets try to support them.
Plus there are some great deals here.

Re: Rear drop

I run 2" blocks because of the 20's and a 5" drop spring. I don't tow or haul anything with this setup however if I did I would need to install some airshocks or something.
