Tilt column question
I have seen people talk about a "true truck" tilt column.
Is there a way to tell if a column is a "true truck" tilt column. Getting ready to buy one, thats not in a truck. I want to make sure i'm getting what i think thanks

One way to tell is the truck tilt has the slot for the neutral safety switch located on the lower end of the column, (approx. 7" from the end). The van tilt has the slot located higher up close to where the column is mounted in the dash.

A van tilt also has a longer inner shaft that stick out about 3-4 inches longer than the truck.
An RV tilt looks exactly like the truck, as far as the location of the NS switch and length of inner steering shaft. The only difference in the two is that the RV shifter shaft arm (located on the lower part of the column) has a joggle in it, where as the truck shifter arm is straight. |
