Re: Fuel gauge!!!
What gauge setup did you have in your truck previously? Idiot cluster or Gauge Cluster?

Re: Fuel gauge!!!
The tank itself is the the ground. You can always check to see if it is a grounding problem by taking a piece of wire putting it anywhere on the sending unit that is metal and grounding it to a known good ground. If it works right, you know you have a grounding issue.

Re: Fuel gauge!!!
This is an indication that the sending unit wire to the gauge is grounded to the frame and not grounding through the resistor in the sending unit. Pull the sending unit wire off the unit at the tank and with the key on you should get a gauge reading at 3:00 o'clock.
If it still reads where it's at, then pull the sending unit wire off at the fuse panel and re-check the fuel gauge. if it then goes to the 3;00 o'clock then the sending unit wire is grounded between the fuse panel and the sending unit. Possibly pinched and grounded somewhere.

This is just an example, one that I am thinking of using on my 40 gallon cell. They have others listed that you can choose from, or just an idea of what you can use. It has to be a 90 ohm sending unit.

Re: Fuel gauge!!!
Did you just do the white face gauges on it? Needle may have been installed in the wrong position. When i did mine i was careful to reinstall the needle in the same position as it was before i took it apart.

Re: Fuel gauge!!!
Did you pull the needle off and reposition it? Fill up the truck with gas at the gas station, pull the custer out, pull off the needle, and then carefully push the needle back on so its lined up with the "FULL" marker. Try NOT to rotate the needle at all while doing this. Get it so that its resting and lined up with "full". Its kinda tricky to get those needles back on and lined up properly.
