Different items on Spid
I found this truck on Ebay ( not mine ) and looking at the spid I saw some items I've never seen on a spid like spark plugs and Engine drain plug which you'd think every engine has.

Re: Different items on Spid
Just a bunch of fleet options typical of a military spec. truck. The drain plug would be a magnetic in this case if that makes you feel better. What I would like to know is what the actual unit price was for these trucks. Bet it was a lot more than any stock unit on a dealers lot.
In the end these are stripper six stepsides with no read HD options save for the 292 spec trans. and rear springs. Most everything else is for the people who drive or maintain them.

Re: Different items on Spid
Government specifies what they want on them, even if it is normally done. SPID sheets had to be done with human involvement. It's why they differ in some aspects, like the codes that identify the individual options.
I wish I had known to look for such stuff when I was in 'Nam, with the '68 SS396 El Camino that the USAF used as a chase vehicle for the U-2's. At least I had the presence of mind to take a picture.....
