59 Apache flip forward hood
Hey gang, making progress on my 59. When I bought it, it had a flimsy flip forward hood that tore up the fenders every time it was opened or closed. I took the old system and re-engineered to function correctly and look much better. Pictures to follow.

Re: 59 Apache flip forward hood
looks good
not sure what the differences are but a couple of vendors make flip hood kits for 55-57 but none for 58-59

Re: 59 Apache flip forward hood
Ogre, Not sure why they don't either. It was farly stragit forward and easy. I looked at pictures from the vender web sites to get develope a plan to get mine corrected... Bought some sheet metal, square tube and round tube, used the existing flip hood hinges and original hood hinge parts and pieces. Took me one full Saturday beginning to finish.

your rear brackets turned out nice looking
i have to ask... how did you bolt the front fenders on without inner fenders?

Re: 59 Apache flip forward hood
They rear guides will look better once the welds are ground down and they are painted. For the front fenders, I used square tube to make a fabricated Radiator support which holds the front fenders, orig nose sheet metal and my fabricated hinge supports. I get some better pictures of that up once i finish that section. I am currently working on the interior should have pictures of that up soon.
