Interesting VINs

Anybody got any interesting VINs like '00001, '1234567, or '77777 ? How about a really low number, or really high? Four of a kind? Full house?

Re: Interesting VINs

My VIN is 1047. According to Jolly's GMC site, that makes it #46 built in 1960.

Re: Interesting VINs

I have an "H" in my vin for factory code. As far as I know H does not exist for factory codes. Could be a type. Sould check the actual VIN to my title, ins. cards, and registration.

Re: Interesting VINs

Not a vin number, but I found a 250 inline 6 cylinder that was only 92 engine numbers apart from the original 250. Had to be built the same or next day, and must have been delivered to the same area as my truck. Maybe even to the same dealership, on the same car carrier! My truck was built in Atlanta and delivered to (IIRC) Westminster SC. I found the engine and truck in Anderson SC within a few months of each other.

Not a Vin, but I recently discovered that my OG '66 was built on my birthday. I know it's not a big deal for anybody but me, but I still think it's cool!

Re: Interesting VINs

The GMC's (I don't know about the Chevy's) started at 1001.

Here is the page on Jolly's site about VIN's.

Re: Interesting VINs

def. a higher build #, but not sure what total production was for 61....
as the supply of 61 hoods ran out, the new 62 hood was used for replacement of damaged hoods, this might even pertain to a late production 61 truck? very likely that the hood was damaged at some point and replaced with the 62 hood. ..also the 62 hood was designed for better frontal visibility, so there is a chance, especially since yours was the taller 4X4 that the original owner(s) opted to try out the new hood..

Re: Interesting VINs

if the VIN starts with H it is a heavy duty truck, I got a title for one of my cabs, a 1/2 that started with H, and the data plate was off of a 25,00 GVW truck. I cut up the cab because ther data plate had been switched
