got the parts now what? disc swap help
I am working on a 68 c-20 2wd, power drum brakes, I just today picked up the spindles and all disc brake stuff off a 71 c-20 2wd, including the steering link, can anyone walk me through the switch? My brakes are already seperated front from rear, there is an old style pressure type trailer brake tapped into the rear at the master cylinder which I will be removing (good place for adjustable prop. valve?), there is a block that both front and rear lines go through I assume this is some sort of prop. valve. . I figure I will need to bolt up 71 ball joints to my arms, are the pitman and idler the same? And then replace tie rod ends brake lines, shoes, etc. with 71 stuff. Am I on the right track, or missing something? The spindles are quite a bit beefier than the 68 ones. Thanks in advance for any info.

Im right in the middle of doing the front end now. Im using '71 spindles. The upper and lower ball joints along w/outer tie rod ends need to be '71-'72. On the tie rods you will use the old outers for the new inners. You will need new connectors for the tie rods(check vendors). Im using a '71 master cylindr/booster that has the correct prop valve on it. When switching cyl/booster you have to go 1/2 ton to 1/2 ton. I havent delt w/ brake lines yet but will probably redo them all. Hopefully this helps a bit, I noticed youre truck is a 3/4 ton so im sure there may be differences.
