trans and driveshaft

Hey everyone I have a 74 crew cab dually and I just installed a 454 bored to a 460.8. I want to get rid of the stock trans and driveshaft. on trans i was thinking of is the m22x. any idea of gear ratios i should use and specific specs i should worry about. this engine has some power and i don't want to break anything right away

Re: trans and driveshaft

M22's are car transmissions, Not near stout enough for a 1 ton truck.
With a 2:20 low you would need a 4:56 rear gear to get that big truck moving without burning the clutch....

Have you looked into NV4500's?
