Working on my '99 Tahoe Sucks
Well in the last week I have installed new cap and rotor, plugs and today installed new thermostat and plug wires. Man, I hate working on newer trucks. I know it's a '99 vrs. a 2010-2012 truck but SO much differant than working on my '71 4x4 LWB. EVERYTHING is in the way, hard to get to, made from plastic,...the list goes on. Tomorrow I need to change the oil and filter and I even hate that since the filter is the size of a large juice can and being a 4x4 sits at an angle just above the front driver shaft u-joints. MAN, they are NEVER going to have any rust, always well lubricated when I pull that juice can oil filter loose. I saved my-self some money I know doing that stuff my-self but not nearly as enjoyable as working on my '71. Sucks getting old, 63 and still like to do as much as I can on my vehicles. Okay, I'm done venting. LOL

Re: Working on my '99 Tahoe Sucks
I know just how you feel. I used to enjoy doing all the work on my vehicles but it's not nearly as much fun as it used to be. I'm 58.
I swear they take a 50 cent fuse and build the car as tight around it as they can. ![]() There will not be any electronics on my 69 past the HEI. I want it kept simple and reliable.

Re: Working on my '99 Tahoe Sucks
Every time I think about buying another truck and read this forum, it makes me not want to progress beyond TBI.

Re: Working on my '99 Tahoe Sucks
Chevy trucks havent been hard to work on since '86. The newer GMT 800's are the easiest.
