4l80e in 70 c30
I have a 1970 c30 flatbed, and I want to install a 4l80e in it, it has 4.10 gears and will have 454 , just wondering if anyone has made this swap on these trucks . And what stand alone computer is recommended ? I also want a cowl hood for it , is a reasonable place that you would recommend purchasing 1, I'm in MO.

Re: 4l80e in 70 c30
First of all,I'd buy the hood somewhere you can pick it up. The money you save on shipping will offset and price differences. The risk of damage is eliminated...if you are careful driving home with it . You can inspect for damage before taking it. Remember, these things are shipped from the other side of the world.
On the 4L80E your options are: 1-ECM from '93-earlier GM 6.2 or 6.5 diesel. They had mechanical injection,so no engine functions on ECM...stand-alone for transmission only. 2-Aftermarket ECM for this type of swap. I'd have to dig a place up from my bookmarks or someone will chime in. 3-Manual valve body. But,who wants to do that? Not me
