Q? on ECE drop coils

Just removed the stock front coil springs from my 68. They are about 1.5" taller than my "stock height" ECE coils I bought. The wire diameter seems to be bigger on the ECE coils. Is this the way they're supposed to be? I'll check the rate at work later today........but I don't want to install the wrong springs in the front and have to pull them out if they are a drop coil, I'm trying to verify that I was shipped the right coils. thanks

They should have the model number stamped on them. I would call up ECE and double check, but I have heard there are some differences like you said between stock and Aftermarket drop coils.
