Help how to measure new drive shaft

Just did a swap from a th350 to a sm465 need help on the correct way to measure a new drive shaft.

If you are having a shaft made I'd recommend you contact the shop and ask them how they want you to do it.

I've showed up before with my own measurements and they made me go home and do it their way. (Shaft is still too short IMHO).

www.markwilliams.com has some good info on driveshaft measuring and setting angles. print out the sheet, write down all the measurements, fax, email, or go to your local shop, and like Keith said, hope they dont send you home for another measurement.

My shop has me bottom the yoke into the transmission then pull it back out 3/4 of an inch. Then measure from center to center from there. This is all done with the truck at ride height.
