I have recently bought a 1980 c10 swb stepside, and im looking forward to putting some weld racing pro star's on it. I want to do 15 x 8 in the front and 15x10 in the back is it possibly to fit the 15x10 in the back without doing any tubing what so ever. If yes can anyone give me all the information i need before buying the wheels (bolt circle, backspacing and what not). Sorry if i sound like an idiot first time buying aftermarket wheels for a truck! I wanna make the truck look sick ! i added a picture of how it sits now

Yup they will fit but not sure on the backspacing. I know the bolt pattern is 5 on 5. Do you plan on lowering the truck? I like the stock height with those wheels myself...

yes i do plan on lowering it, i have another thread debating on how low to go without bottoming out everywhere! someone told me that 5 x 4 3/4 fit does that sound right to you?

15x10 with a 4.5 backspace is the perfect size. That is what I run with a 30x12 M/T Sportsman S/R and it sits dead center with about 5/8" clearance on each side of the tire.

Your bolt circle pattern should be 5x5 if it is stock though!

no..trucks are 5x5 bolt pattern.. 5 x 4 3/4 is car pattern..like camaro or a-body..

If you are gonna be tucking tire you need 5" backspacing in the rear.

20x9.5 (with 5" BS) with air ride.
These 295/40-20 tires will tuck under the stepside fenders.

Your desired ride height will dictate what backspace you need.

I can't tell you about traction on the m/t sr's... I have heard they are good for street driving, but with my combo I highly doubt I'll have traction at 60mph let alone from a stand still... Far superior to a radial t/a tho...

Thats what im gunna do most likely, im thinking about dropping it 2.5 front 4 rear
but i cant figure out whether to just buy this kit i found on jegs

I suggest you go with spindles in front and a cut coil if you want more. For the rear, shackles and hanger if your going to stick with 4". You can remove and raise the stock hanger out back, but you won't get a full 2" drop.

Hey all, I just bought this truck from 80c10... My plans are a bit different than his...

I am going to make a driver out of this truck, first for me and potentially later for my son who is about to start driving...

Looking to put a GM Performance small block crate motor in it, either the 290 hp or 330 hp. Will probably swap out the SM465 for an automatic transmission. And since we are in Houston, it will definitely get air conditioning, likely Vintage Air.

As far as wheels and tires go... I like the stock ride height, and have no plans to lower it at all. I don't really like the "big and little" look on these trucks, so I'll be looking for a tire/wheel combo that can fit on all four corners.

I am thinking 15x8 American Racing Outlaw II wheels, with a 285/75/15 tire... Think that will fit OK?
